A flying visit to Portland Maine in December ended with stay at The Pomegranate Inn, a lovely B&B by creative group Lark Hotels -- these guys don’t settle for safe design and they represent the antithesis of old school twee.
The spacious inn features bold design wherever you turn, and luxurious touches to match. We were so fortunate to be able to cozy up by the fire and have the perfect base to explore this fun city.
Portland has an oversized food scene and our knowledgable hosts hooked up with some of the best local spots. Emilitsa is Greek and Mediterranean with authentic influences, we followed it with a visit to new opening Roustabout, where the inventive and delicious meal was capped off with an insanely tasty ‘mess'.
With these exquisite calories tucked safely away we trucked out to Seabago lake and enjoyed a stroll on the sandy shores. We barely scraped the surface of the city and eagerly anticipate discovering more of its delights in the warmer months.
